Thank you so much to everyone who helped us reach our Kickstarter goal to fund a new Mother Banjo album! Because of you, we are on track to release Eyes on the Sky--my first new recording in over 5 years--this fall! I just spent a wonderful week in Red Wing, MN with my band and the fabulous Beehive Productions crew, recording all the basic tracks live on stage at the historic Sheldon Theatre. And this weekend we brought in a few special guests to Wild Sound Studio in NE Minneapolis to add some extra harmonies and instrumental parts. An amazing week of music-making, I couldn't be more proud of all the work we did and am so excited to share these tracks with you that range from solo acoustic to bluegrass to rockin' Americana. It's definitely the best thing I've ever done, and I am so grateful to all of you for supporting this project.
Featuring Ellen Stanley on banjo and vocals, Mother Banjo is a New England-raised, Minneapolis-based songwriter. Called “an outstanding poet” (Inside Bluegrass), she was a Midwest Finalist for the prestigious Mountain Stage NewSong Contest and has been featured nationally on SiriusXM Radio and CMT.com.

With your support, it's finally happening...my first new album in 5 years! I've just launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $7,500 by January 31 to make this project a reality.
I've enlisted my friends at Beehive Productions out of Saranac Lake, New York to come out to Minnesota to record my new full-length album in March. Together, with members of my band--Ben Cook-Feltz, Dan Gaarder, Eric Paulson, Jim Parker--we'll be recording and shooting video on the stage of an old historic theater, full of ghosts and great acoustics. This is definitely going to be my most personal album to date so this organic performance setting will be the perfect space to capture these songs. You're going to hear songs I've played a lot live as well as some new originals that I'm extremely proud of. It's been a very long time coming, and I can't wait to share these songs with you.
There are lots of ways to support this Kickstarter. You can simply pre-order the album and get it delivered digitally and/or via autographed CD. Or, if you want to give a little extra, you can get other cool thank-you gifts like a special mix CD of my favorite artists, a private listening party at Wild Sound Studio, a performance in your home or my new MoJo Cocktail Recipe Book!
